What does the website SEO checker look for?
The source audit samples the submitted page and up to four eligible pages linked from it on the same website. Search visibility checks cover the page title, meta-description length and the presence of a canonical link. The report also records heading, document-language and image-alternative signals in their relevant categories.
A title such as “Home” gives little context about a business or service. A missing description leaves you without a deliberately written page summary. These findings give you specific page URLs and observations to discuss with your developer. They do not prove that a search result is wrong or that a ranking will change.
How to interpret titles, descriptions and canonical links
The tool uses 10–65 characters for its title check and 50–170 for its description check. These are review thresholds, not Google rules. Consider whether the text describes the page clearly and helps the intended visitor; do not add filler just to pass a length check.
A canonical link being present does not establish that its destination is correct or that a search engine has selected it. Review duplicates, redirects and intended page URLs in context before changing canonical tags. Google may also choose a search title or snippet different from your written metadata.
What is outside this SEO analysis?
This is not a backlink audit, keyword-rank tracker, traffic report or full-site crawl. The seven-category overall score is a source-check pass rate, not an SEO ranking score. If configured and completed, separate Google Lighthouse checks can add their own SEO and performance results to a purchased report.
Use Google Search Console to investigate indexing, search queries and clicks for a website you control. Combine that evidence with your page content, business goals and this report before deciding which changes matter most.
A sensible next step after your check
Start with your most important service or product page. Confirm the evidence, write a specific title and a useful summary, and check that the main heading matches the purpose of the page. Keep a record of what you changed.
After deployment, inspect the page and use Search Console to monitor its search performance. A fresh SiteCheckpath scan is a new snapshot; it does not replace your original report or provide automatic ongoing monitoring.
Turn the evidence into a useful next step
| Signal | What to review |
|---|---|
| Page title | Check that it identifies the page, service and business rather than using a generic label. |
| Meta description | Write a useful summary for a person deciding whether to open the page. |
| Canonical link | Confirm the intended preferred URL with your developer, especially for duplicate pages. |
Use the report’s evidence and scope alongside the relevant documentation for your website. Automated findings are a starting point for investigation.
Questions about this check
Is this a free SEO audit?
The overall website health score is free. Detailed category scores, findings, enhanced checks where available, and downloads require a one-off report purchase. It is not a free unlimited full SEO audit.
Will a high score improve my Google ranking?
The score does not predict rankings. Improving a missing title can be useful, but visibility also depends on content, relevance, competition and many factors this tool does not measure.
Does it work on WordPress?
It can inspect publicly served HTML from WordPress and other platforms without installing a plugin. Automated-access blocks and JavaScript-dependent content can limit the results.
